The Cleveland Browns released their first injury report for Week 2 against Baltimore and it revealed that starting right guard Kevin Zeitler is dealing with an injury to his thumb.

The Cleveland Browns will hit the road on Sunday to face the Baltimore Ravens in their first away game of the 2017 regular season.

The club released its first injury report of the week and there is one player listed that raised a few eyebrows (and certainly made quarterback DeShone Kizer a bit nervous.

Starting right guard Kevin Zeitler did not practice on Wednesday because of a thumb injury suffered during the opening week game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but is not expected to miss any time, head coach Hue Jackson told clevelandbrowns.com:

"“Obviously, Kevin had a procedure on his thumb. I think he will be right back out here very quickly, hopefully tomorrow or Thursday, but I think Kevin will be up and ready to go. He might have to wear some protective piece over his hand, but he is not going to miss any time. I do know that.”"

That is great news, obviously, but it is one thing for Jackson to say Zeitler, who reportedly was seen at practice on Wednesday with a cast running all the way to his elbow, will play and another thing for Zeitler to actually suit up on Sunday. Although it does seem likely that he will be able to go, even with a bad thumb.

The Browns will be facing a Baltimore defense that intercepted Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton four times and sacked him five times in their Week 1 win, so having everyone available on the offensive line would be ideal.

In addition to keeping Kizer in one piece, the Browns will be looking to improve on their running game, which only produced 57 yards and 2.3 yards per carry against the Steelers. That is something that can be repaired as the line spends more time together, left guard Joel Bitonio told the team’s website:

"“They did some internal twists and sending backers through where it was one guy. It seems like that is always an issue, but one guy misses a block or the hole is a front side and he hit the back side on that play. Just little things. You can fix those. We haven’t played that much together, but we are going to improve. We are going to work to improve it and we will see. Pittsburgh did a good job of slowing us down Week 1.”"

As for the rest of the injury report, it was pretty much boilerplate.
