The Cleveland Browns have lost Corey Coleman to a broken hand after Week 2 for the second consecutive year, limiting the ability to evaluate him.

The Cleveland Browns lost to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 of 2016, and did so again in 2017. And after Corey Coleman broke his hand in practice following that Week 2 game in 2016, the injury struck again.

Coleman is now out with a broken hand once again, which kept him out for six weeks a year ago. When you make millions with your hands, two breaks in the span of a year is not a great sign.

The injury leaves the Browns without a clear number one option at wide receiver. Kenny Britt was supposed to be that guy, but he has barely shown up through two weeks.

The best performance has come from Rashard Higgins, who didn’t even make the original 53-man roster after having all offseason to prove himself. But maybe being cut once will be enough motivation to keep him performing at a high level.

DeShone Kizer already has to deal with the stress of being a rookie quarterback, and the disarray in the receiving corps won’t help at all. The front office added three new players a week before the season began, opting to cut those who had been with the team for months.

Upgrading in terms of talent is always the goal, but the group may have overthought this one.

We take a look at that and more in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.
