The Cleveland Browns defensive effort was on full display in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Despite a disappointing overtime loss, the Cleveland Browns displayed progress. The defense continues to grow and put on arguably their best performance against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.

Defensive backs Jason McCourty and Jabrill Peppers were both out from the game due to injuries, though the secondary played well in their absence. The defensive line was able to disrupt the quarterback and limited the Titans running backs to just 72 rushing yards on 31 attempts.

However, as the story has gone seven times thus far, it wasn’t enough to earn a victory. The offense struggled to find a rhythm and head coach Hue Jackson pulled DeShone Kizer for the second game this season. Though, this time it was Cody Kessler who got the nod.

The Browns defense is in the midst of a transformation, and a good one at that. However, they will never find their true potential until the offense can keep the team competitive. Losing in overtime to the Titans was heartbreaking for a team still searching for their first win but there were positives as well.
