2. Calvin Ridley, Alabama

When Calvin Ridley comes into the NFL, he will be 23-years old. Additionally, he will be 24 by the time he finishes up his rookie year. As one of Alabama’s strongest leaders, he could be a great first or early second-round talent for the Browns.

By far, Ridley is the most polished and pro-ready receiver in this draft class. He might be a bit skinny at 6-foot-1 and 190, but he is absolutely ready for the NFL.

More from Browns Draft

All around, Ridley is solid. Size, speed, hands, route-running, and ball skills, he really has it all. So, why is he not No. 1? Why isn’t he the top option?

Due to his higher than average age for a rookie, there’s already some wear and tear on Ridley’s body. Combine that with a skinny frame, and Ridley could be a bit injury prone at the next level.

Without a doubt, Ridley is the most sure-fire option at receiver in this class. But, there are concerns about his frame and durability, much like Burnett had.

Over the last few years, the University of Alabama has been a factory for wide receivers. Current Atlanta Falcon Julio Jones and the Oakland Raiders’ Amari Cooper immediately come to mind. Could Ridley be the next in line?

If the Browns believe that he is, they’ll likely be spending a first round pick on him. They will likely need to trade up in the first round to get him. Is that worth it? Well, that’s for the Browns to decide. Maybe in their eyes, he really is the number one guy.
