1. James Washington, Oklahoma State

James Washington is a perfect receiving option for the Cleveland Browns. Coming out of Oklahoma State University, Washington is a great combination of a high ceiling, a low floor, polish, and value.

Currently, Washington is graded as a second or third-round talent. However, his stock is steadily rising due to a downright fantastic week at the 2018 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

At the Senior Bowl, Washington was noticeably faster than during the season on film. He dominated in all his one-on-one drills against the secondary, and just had a great week in general.

During his final college season, he put up some impressive numbers for the Cowboys, to the tune of 74 receptions for 1,549 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Throughout his entire career at Oklahoma State, Washington showed incredible hands and body control. His size and speed combination (6-foot even, 205 pounds) made him a deadly threat for quarterback Mason Rudolph during their time in Stillwater together.

Perhaps the best part about Washington is that his draft grade is still relatively low, especially for the talent he provides. Hopefully, he stays a bit under the radar until the NFL Draft, so the Browns can snag him on day two.

The only problem with Washington is that his route-running leaves a bit to be desired. While at Oklahoma State, he did not run the entire route tree. The Big XII conference runs a simplified, sometimes gimmicky offense, and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are no exception.

Overall, Washington is the most well-rounded receiver in this class, and likely the best for the Cleveland Browns. He might not be the most pro-ready right now, but he’s a perfect fit, and sometimes, that prevails over readiness for the next level.
