The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the news you need to know in order to keep up with your Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL

No team gets linked to free agent quarterbacks as much as the Cleveland Browns do, and rightfully so. This team needs a legitimate starter badly, and that means any new deals will be looked at extra hard by the Browns and their fans.

On Thursday we all saw that come to fruition as the San Francisco 49ers signed Jimmy Garoppolo to a five-year deal with $90 million in guaranteed money due in the first three seasons. That’s a record-setting deal and it plays directly into Cleveland’s plans as one of their potential targets — Kirk Cousins — may now want a similar deal.

While many of us drop our jaws, that’s just the going rate for quarterbacks now, and it isn’t going down anytime soon. Let’s look at that news, and more, with today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
