1. Dallas Cowboys

No team seemed like a better match for Johnny Manziel than the Dallas Cowboys when he was coming out of Texas A&M. He had a massive following and an ego the size of the state he played in. Much like the Cowboys and their owner Jerry Jones.

Jones and Manziel even formed a weird friendship and despite just recently extending the contract of quarterback Tony Romo, Jones wanted to draft Manziel. However, he was talked out of it by everyone else in the war room, most notably his son Stephen Jones.

That doesn’t mean Jerry was happy. Despite everything proving they made the right pick with Notre Dame guard Zack Martin, Jones professed his anger with his son in an extensive piece on ESPN.

"“I’m still so damn mad at Stephen,” Jones said via Don Van Natta Jr. of ESPN “… I get madder, every day, about missin’ (Manziel).”"

With Romo now retired, the Cowboys have turned to Dak Prescott as their franchise quarterback. A down season in 2017 could lead the team to reconsider the Manziel possibility as he could compete with Cooper Rush for the backup job while potentially pushing Prescott to improve upon his shaky accuracy.

No team seems more likely to take a gamble on a player like Manziel, and if he does get a comeback the Cowboys would be a safe bet as to where he would land.
