One thing that could change how the Cleveland Browns approach the 2018 NFL Draft is if they sign a quarterback in free agency, this mock acts as if they do

Many mock drafts have the Cleveland Browns selecting a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. That may not be the case though.

This isn’t to say their current stable of signal callers breeds confidence, but instead that they could look at upgrading the position in free agency. This season is different than many in that more than one capable quarterback could hit the free agent market.

Kirk Cousins is one, although the Washington Redskins may franchise tag him still in an attempt to trade his rights — despite already agreeing to trade for Alex Smith. The veteran starter is fresh off his third season throwing for more than 4,000-yards and is rumored to be open to playing in Cleveland.

There’s also all three Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks about to hit the market as Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford are all about to see their contracts expire.

If the Browns find a way to lure any of them, or maybe even trade for Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles, they may alter everything they do in the draft. Here we look at what the team may do with their NFL-high 12 picks if that happens.
