Round 5: Ja’Von Rolland-Jones, EDGE, Arkansas State

With their second pick in the fifth-round, the Browns add another potential pass rusher in Ja’Von Rolland-Jones out of Arkansas State. He’s undersized and played against a lower level of competition, which teams have to weigh when deciding to draft him according to Lance Zierlein of NFL. com

"“Rolland-Jones is the most accomplished pass rusher in FBS history, but teams will have to decide how to balance his production against his level of competition. Rolland-Jones may be smaller than teams would like on the edge, but his rush skill and instincts are beyond what many rushers come into the league with. His lack of physical traits will push him down the draft board some, but he has the consistency of production and the play traits to challenge for a role as a designated pass rusher in sub-packages.” –Zierlein"

If he is able to maximize his potential, this could be a very good pick.

Round 5: Matthew Thomas, LB, Florida State

Matthew Thomas is the second pick in the fifth-round for Cleveland and he just comes in as someone competing for a job. That’s crazy to think of with how highly recruited he was coming out of high school.

Thomas has great height at 6-4, but could stand to add some weight to his 227-pound frame. He had 85 tackles in his senior season, but displays a lack of instincts and needs some real growth to become a contributor. Still, he has the raw talent to deserve a shot.
