The Cleveland Browns defensive line is becoming one of the team’s strongest position groups. However, taking another defensive lineman in the 2018 NFL Draft could make that group an embarrassment of riches.

Myles Garrett, Larry Ogunjobi, Danny Shelton, and Emmanuel Ogbah. This Cleveland Browns starting defensive line is already one of the team’s strongest points.

Starting in 2015 with Danny Shelton, the Browns put a heavy focus on their frontmost line of defense. The line took shape as Emmanuel Ogbah and Parma, Ohio native Jamie Meder were added to the mix. Myles Garrett with the first overall pick in 2017 just made sense.

The Browns went from one of the worst run defenses in 2016 to one of the best in 2017, almost from their defensive line alone. Gregg Williams’s 4-3 base defense made rushing attacks hellish for opposing offensive coaches.

But now with such a solid defensive line, could the Browns be looking to add even more? Adding to this already strong position group could work wonders for Cleveland, and could make life miserable for opposing quarterbacks.

It is unlikely that the Browns would spend free agency money on a defensive lineman; they really just don’t need it. But, the Browns could spend a draft pick on a defensive lineman and not think anything of it.

The Cleveland Browns, as of right now, have 12 picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. What’s one more on the front line of defense? Should they choose to go the route of beefing up an already young and hungry defensive line group, these are their top five options.
