The NFL Scouting Combine marks the official opening of draft season and there will be plenty of stories to follow for fans of the Cleveland Browns.

The NFL Scouting Combine, which marks the official opening of draft season, takes place this week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

There will be plenty of stories to follow for fans of the Cleveland Browns as the 330 college players make their way to the event.

The action goes into full swing on Wednesday with media interviews of various front office executives and continues into Thursday with head coaches. No word yet on whether or not general manager John Dorsey will speak to the media, or if head coach Hue Jackson will talk for the second consecutive year.

The on-field workouts start on Friday as the running backs, offensive linemen and special teams players go through the various drills, which include the 40-yard dash, bench press, three-cone drill, and position-specific drills. Browns fans will be keeping an eye on Penn State’s Saquon Barkley, Georgia’s Sony Michel and San Diego State’s Rashaad Penny, among others.

The TV ratings should be big in Northeast Ohio on Saturday, as the quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends are put through their workouts.

Schedule to workout on Saturday are potential draft targets Baker Mayfield from Oklahoma, Lamar Jackson from Louisville, Sam Darnold from USC, Josh Rosen from UCLA and Josh Allen from Wyoming.

Sunday brings workouts for defensive linemen — a group that includes Bradley Chubb of North Carolina State and Marcus Davenport of the University of Texas-San Antonio.

The combine comes to a close on Monday when the defensive backs hit the field for their workouts, giving fans a chance to see how Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick grades out. Fitzpatrick is one of 14 Crimson Tide players who will be participating.

The NFL Network will televise the workouts each day starting at 9 a.m., while also streaming them at NFL Combine Live on NFL.com.

A full list of the participants is available at NFL.com.

The Le’Veon Bell showdown (ESPN)

"Le’Veon Bell says he and the Pittsburgh Steelers are closer in negotiations than they were a year ago. It’s time to find out just how close. The franchise tag window is here, and if the Steelers use the tag as expected, Bell and the team have the next five months to work out a contract. Here’s what you need to know about what’s next."

Blake Bortles is a keeper for the Jacksonville Jaguars (Orlando Sentinel)

"Blake Bortles is getting paid. This is a great thing for a deserving young man. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a bunch of nitwits. Hop on one side of the fence and banter away folks. Plenty of room on both sides on the contentious Internet thingy."

Cincinnati’s John Ross moving on from tough rookie season (NFL.com)

"Cincinnati Bengals wideout John Ross’ rookie season did not live up to the expectations. He was limited to just 17 snaps, no catches and one fumble for the year. The wideout is hoping for a fresh start to prove he’s worth the Bengals drafting him with the 9th-overall pick."

Will Jarvis Landry trade talks heat up at the Scouting Combine? (Palm Beach Post)

"If Jarvis Landry is actually going to be traded, it makes sense for this to happen as quickly as possible. We’re still not sure exactly why this can’t just get done with the Dolphins, because the two sides deserve each other and could really use each other."
