Daily Dawg Tags: Browns holding steady on season ticket prices
By Thomas Moore
The Cleveland Browns have just completed one of the worst two-year runs in NFL history, which has led the team to not raise season ticket prices for 2018.
The Cleveland Browns, fresh off just the second 0-16 season in NFL history, will not raise season ticket prices for the 2018 season.
The plan to keep the status quo on season tickets was reported by numerous news organizations on Tuesday after the club sent a letter detailing the decision to current season ticket holders.
According to Nate Ulrich at ohio.com, the letter, which went out over the signature of general manager John Dorsey, promises that the franchise will continue to work to find a better day on the horizon:
"“In 2018 and the years ahead, our goal is to create wins in every area possible each day so that we are ready to accomplish the only goal that matters — winning football games. This is the beginning, and it is time to provide the faithful football fans of Cleveland the winning environment they’ve long desired.”"
While wins have been scarce in recent years, especially under head coach Hue Jackson, there is reason for fans to be optimistic that the Browns can deliver on Dorsey’s promise.
The team has 12 draft selections in the 2018 NFL Draft, including the No. 1 and No. 4 overall selections and five picks in the first two rounds, providing the opportunity to finally find a franchise quarterback and patch some additional holes on the roster.
Dorsey also inherited somewhere north of $100 million in cap space to use in free agency. Although if we want fans to remain optimistic, it is probably better to not focus too much on salaries, given the state of the Kansas City Chiefs, who are now struggling with salary cap issues from when Dorsey was general manager.
It is the offseason, however, a time when Browns fans can safely remain optimistic about a brighter future.
If Dorsey and his rebuilt front office are everything their friends in the media have made them out to be, that winning environment referenced in the letter may not be that far down the road.

QB decision could come down to Sam Darnold vs. Josh Allen (ohio.com)
"Like most draft analysts, NFL Network’s Mike Mayock views Southern California’s Sam Darnold as the early favorite to become the first quarterback drafted April 26, likely by the Browns at No. 1 overall. But unlike many of his peers, Mayock said Wyoming’s Josh Allen, not UCLA’s Josh Rosen, is Darnold’s main competition."

Chiefs return for trading Marcus Peters is two draft picks (Kansas City Star)
"The Chiefs spent three-plus weeks attempting to deal cornerback Marcus Peters, only to find two teams – the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers – with major interest. On Friday, the club reached an agreement to send the star cornerback to the Los Angeles Rams, and on Monday, their return on the trade finally leaked, as they’ve received a fourth-round pick this year and a second-round pick in 2019 in exchange for a 2018 sixth-round pick and two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro."
