Daily Dawg Tags: Cleveland Browns still working their roster
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the news you need to know in order to keep up with the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL
The 2018 NFL Combine wrapped up on Monday, but the Cleveland Browns weren’t resting. They still had a couple pieces of news come out including the report that they plan to host free agency cornerback Sam Shields this week.
Shields hasn’t played in the NFL since 2016 and had concussion problems and an arrest that kept him off the field. It’s odd the Browns would kick the tires on him, but they can be credited with at least doing their due diligence as Shields was one time a solid corner.
The other “news” wasn’t news at all. Instead, it was just a report that Browns head coach Hue Jackson still wants A.J. McCarron in the brown and orange next season. This has never been a big secret as McCarron has been a favorite of Jackson’s for quite some time. At this point, it would be shocking to see the former Alabama signal caller sign anywhere other than Cleveland.
Outside of that, this week has been all about the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. Penn State running back Saquon Barkley went off in an athletic display and UCF linebacker Shaquem Griffin was the highlight for defensive players.
Get caught up with all that news and more with this edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
