The Daily Dawg Tags keep you up to date with the Cleveland Browns. Today’s stories are highlighted by the team planning to host cornerback E.J. Gaines

The Cleveland Browns have been busy this offseason, and they’re not slowing down any. After making several trades and a few signings — like running back Carlos Hyde — the Browns are now set to host cornerback E.J. Gaines.

The former Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills corner is the second name linked to the team this week as they also plan to pursue former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns.

Cleveland has competition for both players as Hurns has drawn interest from the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens. Gaines also has others eyeing him as he visited with the Jets this week and the Arizona Cardinals last week.

Gaines was traded to Buffalo last season after spending the fist three seasons of his career with the Rams. He did miss the entire 2015 season with a Lisfranc injury. He also missed five games in each of the past two seasons.

Even so, he would be a starter on the Browns current roster if they were able to land him. That news highlights today’s Daily Dawg Tags.
