Tre Boston, S, Los Angeles Chargers

The last player we look at is safety Tre Boston, who is fresh off a career-year with the Los Angeles Chargers. After signing a one-year deal with the Bolts, the former Panthers safety had 79 tackles and five interceptions, but still hasn’t received a contract.

Despite already adding Randall, the Browns are one of the teams reportedly showing interest in Boston, who is dumfounded by the lack of attention to safeties in 2018 NFL Free Agency.

"“Just like a few of the other guys, we’re just not hearing anything near what we want to hear or even close,” Boston said to Ed McCaffrey and Alex Marvez on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “We’re closer to veteran minimum than we are to the $7-, $8-, $9-million players we wanted to be two months ago or even eight months ago.” — Alex Marvez, Sporting News"

The safety market has been odd, and it makes little sense. These guys are important to the success of any defense and guys like Boston and Eric Reid are there awaiting contracts.

In Cleveland, Boston could compete with Randall and second-year safety Jabrill Peppers for snaps. Such a signing could also happen thanks to Randall’s versatility to help at corner as well. You can never have too many guys in the secondary that can make plays.
