Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the news from the Cleveland Browns and the rest of the NFL, even after a quiet weekend like this past one

First off, here’s to hoping each and everyone out there in the Dawg Pound had a great Easter. As for the Cleveland Browns, it seemed as if the team was able to enjoy some peace and quiet after a busy offseason.

It wasn’t just the Browns that were silent over the weekend. The majority of the NFL had little to say, outside of a few lingering discussions about the new rule changes the NFL has adopted.

The one that clearly has made the most noise is the new rule prohibiting lowering the helmet before a hit. It’s the NFL’s version of the “targeting” rule that is so awfully enforced in the NCAA — which is scary because the NFL has struggled with rules, including them still trying to figure out what the heck a catch is.

Other than that, there was more free agent and draft speculation, which is always fun when the team you love has the No. 1 and No. 4 picks.

Those are the main stories to find in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Barry Church on NFL’s new tackling rules: ‘Are they just going to throw a flag every play?’ — Dallas Morning News

"“I don’t understand it because as a defender, when you’re going in for a tackle, your first instinct – you got to lower yourself to get your pads even with the player’s pads. So, you’re telling me if you’re a defender that needs to lower your pads to get more leverage on a player, and the running back goes low to protect himself, and you guys hit each other, hit him with the helmet or whatever – are they just going to throw a flag basically every single play?”"
