Cleveland Browns: 2018 Preseason schedule announced
By Randy Gurzi
The NFL announced the 2018 Preseason schedule. Here is all the information you need about your Cleveland Browns and who they will be playing.
Football is back. Well, almost. The NFL announced it’s 2018 Preseason schedule on Wednesday, so at least we know when we can again catch the Cleveland Browns in action.
65 games will be played from Thursday, Aug. 2 through Friday, Aug. 31. As is tradition, the first game will be the Hall of Fame Game — which doesn’t officially count as Week 1. This extra game (hence the odd number being played) will take placed in Canton, Ohio as the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens face off with one another. That game will be televised on NBC.
There won’t be a nationally televised game again until Week 2 according to the NFL.com story on the release. The first of those will be the New York Jets heading to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Redskins on Thursday, Aug. 16 on ESPN. That will be followed by another ESPN game on Monday, Aug. 20 as the Ravens will again infiltrate our television sets, this time against the Indianapolis Colts.

As for the Browns, they won’t see national television until Week 3 of the 2018 NFL Preseason. Aug. 23 they will be on TV for a Thursday Night matchup with the world champion Philadelphia Eagles. That game can be caught on FOX.
The full schedule for the Browns is as follows:
Week 1: at New York Giants
Week 2: home vs. Buffalo Bills
Week 3: home vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Week 4: at Detroit Lions
The most interesting game on the schedule has to be Week 2 at home against the Bills. Although more eyes will be on the nationally televised game the following week, this one will be the first chance Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor will have to go against his old team.
The Bills and Browns made a deal this offseason sending Taylor to Cleveland in exchange for a third-round pick. Taylor will be the starting quarterback this season, presumably with a rookie grooming behind him.

Preseason football isn’t the same as regular season, but it’s always a welcome sight after such a long time away from the game we love.
