The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the news you need to know, like Josh Allen still gaining traction as an option for the Cleveland Browns

It surely isn’t the popular pick for the Cleveland Browns, but the talk hasn’t slowed down any. Many are still expecting the team to use the No. 1 overall pick on the Wyoming quarterback despite his inconsistent play for the Cowboys.

Allen completed just 56.2 percent of his passes while in college, but that keeps getting explained away. It seems like many are enamored with his rocket launcher for an arm and don’t care that he struggles with touch and ball placement.

There have been plenty of players in the past that blew people away with their arm, and Allen tossing it 80-yards downfield seems to be doing that. Problem is, there aren’t many offensive plays in a game where a team just heaves it 80-yards downfield. Well, at least there aren’t yet, but it will be different with Allen — right?

Maybe it’s all smokescreen, maybe not. We won’t know until Cleveland is on the clock and makes their pick.

Outside of the never-ending Allen talk, we did get to see when the Browns will be playing next. The 2018 NFL Preseason Schedule was released, and Cleveland will get a prime time game against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Bengals owner Mike Brown questions Eric Reid on kneeling during visit: report — Daniel Popper, NY Daily News

"Mike Brown owns the Cincinnati Bengals, an NFL team that has, in the past decade, signed, drafted and continued to employ football players with histories of societally unacceptable behavior both on and off the field. It seems, however, Brown — who has overseen exactly zero (0) playoff victories since assuming ownership in 1991 — draws his line at non-violent protest."
