Daily Dawg Tags: Cleveland Browns host suspended receiver

Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the news you need to know, like the Cleveland Browns hosting Florida’s Antonio Callaway, who was suspended for all of 2017
Each morning we want to bring you all the news you need to know in regards to your Cleveland Browns, and the rest of the NFL. Once again during a slow portion of the offseason, the Browns found a way to get their names in the news cycle.
They did so by signing recently-acquired wide receiver Jarvis Landry to a five-year deal which will average somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 million per season.
It’s a lot of money for a slot receiver, however the Browns feel confident he can help turn their offense around. Landry led the NFL in receptions last season with 112, but was under 1,000-yards with an average of 8.8 yards per catch.
The low yards per grab are a primary reason for there being any concern about Landry’s contract, which is a legitimate question. However, it could also be argued that his presence could help a young quarterback take over — as well as veteran Tyrod Taylor who is learning a new offense.

Landry extended, but is it a good deal?
His yards per catch resemble a safety-valve tight end, but his volume of receptions says he’s a reliable slot receiver. Was the Landry extension a good move?
"Callaway’s off-field red flags may significantly overpower whatever on-field potential he possesses. Callaway spent the entire 2017 season suspended for his role in a credit card fraud scheme. He’s also been charged with marijuana possession and, in 2015, was the subject of a sexual assault investigation."
