Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said that the team doesn’t know who they’re taking at No. 1, but can that really be true?

It’s been a long time since the 2017 NFL Season ended and the Cleveland Browns front office has been working diligently to decide what to do with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

They’ve made their trip to the NFL Scouting Combine, several Pro Days and have had a myriad of visits with potential draft targets. Now with that selection night just days away, they’re still not telling anyone what they plan to do.

While a competitive advantage could be gained from this, head coach Hue Jackson indicates that’s not the reason behind the questions. Instead, he says the team isn’t sure which direction they’re heading.

In fact, he reportedly even laughed off reports that they had settled on Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen according to NFL Networks Andrew Siciliano.

While there’s a lot to sift through before making a decision on who you feel is the best pick at No. 1 overall, the real laugh-worthy comment is Jackson trying to say the team has yet to reach a consensus. At this point in the game it’s absolutely crazy to think the Browns are still vacillating on a player they believe in.

Instead, this is all about keeping the teams behind them guessing. Cleveland is playing some poker right now and that’s perfectly fine — especially when considering they’re back on the clock at No. 4.

The Browns made several moves this offseason, but they still reportedly feel like they have to have a franchise quarterback. While not tipping his hand, Jackson says four quarterbacks are in play according to Jared Dubin of CBS Sports.

Allen is one of the players as is USC’s Sam Darnold, Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and UCLA’s Josh Rosen. It looks like we won’t know who will wear the orange and brown until April 26, but acting like the front office will find out when we do is laughable.
