Daily Dawg Tags: Cleveland Browns could have a leader in Tyrod Taylor
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the news you need to know to keep up with your Cleveland Browns, like a look at Tyrod Taylor’s start as the new leader
The Cleveland Browns got their offseason program underway this week and Tuesday was our first chance to hear some of the guys speak at their press conference. One player who turned heads with his leadership and focus was new quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
Taylor came in early and did what he could to be a presence for the franchise. He wanted to meet the guys he hadn’t been able to yet and show them who he is.
The excitement for this season feels real as Cleveland added not only Taylor, but receiver Jarvis Landry and running back Carlos Hyde to their offense. They also added some help to the defense, but the key for the season keeps coming back to Taylor.
If he can play at a high level, they can win. If not, it will be another long season for the Browns.
That story and more is the focus of today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Micah Hyde suggests NFL fine QBs when receivers sustain helmet-to-helmet hits — Mike Rodak, ESPN
"“Those bang-bang plays, it’s tough,” Hyde said Tuesday. “Start fining the quarterbacks. They’re the ones who are throwing the ball right there. It’s tough for us [defensive players] to be able to adjust last second to get our head to one side, the other side — up, down. We’re trying to make a play like the receiver is. It’s the sport of football.”"

"The 2018 NFL Draft is nearly upon us, and one thing is certain: Saquon Barkley will go in the top 10 picks. OR WILL HE? No, seriously, will he? It sure seems like a logical conclusion, but as Pete Prisco and I discussed on the most recent edition of the Pick Six Podcast, it’s hardly guaranteed that a running back goes that early."
