Cleveland Browns schedule release: Way too early win-loss projection
By Randy Gurzi
Week 1: Sept. 9 – Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 1 can set the tone for better or worse. The Browns played well in Week 17 of the 2017 season against the Steelers, but still lost. And that was against backups.
That shouldn’t be the barometer for this contest though as things have changes. Cleveland is much better at quarterback, running back and wide receiver. They also have the Steelers old offensive coordinator Todd Haley.
Haley will want to stick it to his old team and running back Le’Veon Bell will probably still be shaky thanks to staying away from the team all preseason as he plays the guy who wants money villain.
Cleveland sneaks out a shocking win here.
Week 2: Sept. 16 – at New Orleans Saints
The high from Week 1 doesn’t carry over. The Browns are much improved on defense from season’s past, but Drew Brees is a monster when it comes to throwing the ball. This one could get ugly.

Week 3: Sept. 20 (Thu) – New York Jets
The short rest is ridiculous. Players hate it and the league has had to try to put them in clown suits to get eyes on the game.
Ugly football will be played and Cleveland could get another narrow victory — only because they’re the home team on the short week. Hey, we will take any wins, right?
Week 4: Sept. 30 – at Oakland Raiders
Don’t expect the Raiders to be as good as the Bucs were when Jon Gruden coached last. However, that doesn’t mean they will stink. Cleveland drops another here to a strong foe on the road.
Record for Sept: 2-2
Record Overall: 2-2
