Doug Farrar of Bleacher Report released his final 2018 NFL Mock Draft and has the Cleveland Browns selecting Sam Darnold and surprisingly Quenton Nelson

One name was a usual suspect, the other was straight out of left field. Doug Farrar of Bleacher Report released his final 2018 NFL Mock Draft and had a surprising pick at No. 4 for the Cleveland Browns.

After taking USC quarterback Sam Darnold at No. 1, the Browns then watch Penn State running back Saquon Barkley go second to the New York Giants, followed by Josh Rosen — the UCLA quarterback — going third to the New York Jets.

Back on the clock at No. 4 in this mock, Farrar then goes for Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson.

In his explanation for this pick, the Bleacher Report writer says the team is considering moving Shon Coleman from right tackle to left as a replacement for Joe Thomas. He offers up a different solution by grabbing Nelson.

"“A more suitable solution might be this: Take current left guard Joel Bitonio, who played left tackle at Nevada, and let him give it a shot. Arm-length concerns sent Bitonio to the inside when he hit the NFL, but he has the agility and adaptive skill to make a go of it.” — Farrar, Bleacher Report"

It’s an interesting idea, and if the front office think Joel Bitonio can play left tackle, it’s worth considering. Nelson is one of the more talented players in the entire draft and is far and away the best offensive lineman.

With this class being absent a stellar left tackle prospect, Nelson is the lineman most ready to make an impact as a rookie.

There haven’t been many indications that Cleveland would consider such a move however. Most insiders seem to believe they will look at someone on the defensive side at No. 4. Popular choices have included North Carolina State’s Bradley Chubb and Ohio State cornerback Denzel Ward.
