The Cleveland Browns kicked off the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by selecting offensive lineman Austin Corbett out of Nevada. How did Twitter react?

The second night of the 2018 NFL Draft got underway with the Cleveland Browns selecting Nevada offensive lineman Austin Corbett. The move was met with some skepticism as Corbett wasn’t really a player that was on too many radars.

Corbett is listed as a tackle, which is a need for Cleveland. However, the feeling on Corbett is that he’s going to line up inside at the next level.

That could mean that either the Browns could use him at guard and push Joel Bitonio to tackle. Or maybe they see Corbett as a tackle. Either way, it seemed like better picks were on the board.

With players like Texas offensive tackle Connor Williams and guard Will Hernandez out of UTEP sitting there, it seems like they could have done better. And that was the consensus on Twitter.

Eh…that seemed to be the main feeling as a lot of fans weren’t sure who he was. That was noticed by Pro Football Talk at least.

Others shared the question of why Corbett — who is projected as a guard — and not Hernandez, who went next to the Giants.

The best may have been this take on his highlights:

Some started to warm up to him though as a versatile player.

Pointing to people like Bitonio, others like the program he came out of.

NFL Network’s Mike Mayock was good with the move, and had some praise on air for him.

Jeremy in Akron is always a good follow on Twitter, and he was just fine with this selection.

Only time will tell on how Corbett will be as a pro, but this pick was unexpected to say the least.
