After adding nine picks in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns hope to be much improved. They can get even better in 2019 as they again have extra picks.

The 2018 NFL Draft is now behind us. The Cleveland Browns added a total of nine picks. They added a potential franchise quarterback in Baker Mayfield out of Oklahoma, a top-flight corner in Denzel Ward from Ohio State and a bruising back in Nick Chubb from Georgia.

Those were the most popular picks, but they also added some other weapons on day two. That included a strong offensive lineman in Austin Corbett from Nevada — the same school as current left guard Joel Bitonio — and a strong defensive end that provides depth in Chad Thomas from Miami.

The final day saw a few more potential contributors with the best prospect arguably being middle linebacker Genard Avery out of Memphis. They could get a lot from fourth-round pick Antonio Callaway, although there’s a ton of concerns because he was often suspended while at the University of Florida.

No matter your take on that pick, the Browns had a strong draft in general manager John Dorsey’s first draft. Now looking ahead, how many selections does the team have in 2019? As of now, they again have nine picks thanks to making a few moves.

Of course that could change as Dorsey has been active in making moves. It wouldn’t be hard to envision them once again picking up some extra draft stock to make the roster even stronger.
