Newly-signed Cleveland Browns running back Carlos Hyde already has his first milestone with the Dawg Pound. For the first time in his career, Hyde has made the NFL Top 100 list, voted in by NFL players.

Carlos Hyde was a running back for the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. On the season, Hyde collected a respectable 938 yards and eight touchdowns. Additionally, he caught 59 passes for a total of 350 yards (about 5.9 yards per catch).

Although he did all this work in San Francisco, Hyde signed with his home state Cleveland Browns in free agency this year. The former Ohio State Buckeye product and graduate of Cincinnati’s Naples High School, Hyde decided to come closer to home for his second contract.

When the NFL Top 100 list started on Monday night, Hyde knew he had a chance to be on the player-voted. He was listed officially as a Cleveland Brown, coming in with at No. 97 on the list.

Hopefully, the Browns can capitalize on the talent that Hyde showed last year with the 49ers. 2017 was his first appearance on the list, and hopefully for Browns fans, it won’t be the last.

So, what does this mean for Hyde and the Browns? Well, it could mean that this is an improvement over what the Browns had at running back last season. Really, the facts speak for themselves.

If we are to take this list as fact, then this means that Hyde is an automatic upgrade over former Cleveland Brown, Isaiah Crowell. That is to say, Crowell never made the NFL Top 100 list during his time with the Browns.

Nevertheless, this should be a good sign of things to come for the Browns. Hopefully with Duke Johnson and newly-drafted Nick Chubb, Hyde can slide into a comfortable role as a do-it-all power back in Cleveland.
