The Cleveland Browns began their rookie mini-camp on Friday, officially bringing in a new era of football under new general manager John Dorsey. The rookies from the 2018 draft class finally had their numbers revealed, as they take the next steps into learning the basics of what it takes to make it in the NFL.

One day after being drafted number one overall by the Cleveland Browns, Baker Mayfield’s number was announced. The video announcement was uploaded to the team’s Youtube page and showed Baker talking to team equipment personnel, before saying he had to pick the number six, since that’s what he had worn in college.

Other than him, no announcement had been made about the numbers the rest of the rookies in this year’s draft class would wear. However, with rookie mini-camp starting, the team released the numbers for each of the rookies.

The fourth-overall selection, cornerback Denzel Ward, was seen wearing the No. 12 at practice, the same number he wore in college That number is currently worn by wide receiver Josh Gordon — and is also unavailable for defensive backs who have to wear something between No 20-49.

Rookie offensive tackle Austin Corbett will wear number 63, after wearing the number 73 in his college career at Nevada. Former Georgia running back Nick Chubb, who wore the number 27 at the University of Georgia, will wear 31 this season. The teams third-round pick, defensive end Chad Thomas, will wear the 92 after wearing No. 9 in at the University of Miami.

The former Florida Gator wide receiver Antonio Callaway will wear the number 11, and fellow wide receiver draft pick Damion Ratley will wear the number 18. Former Memphis linebacker and fifth-round selection Genard Avery will transition from wearing the number six in college to wearing number 55. Cleveland’s final selection of 2018, sixth-round pick Simeon Thomas, will wear the number 33.

Next: Who will be the biggest steal of the draft?

While Ward has yet to solidify the number he will wear, as have the undrafted free agent signings, fans will soon find out the final selections when training camp begins and the roster begins to take shape heading into the preseason. Many changes to this roster could still come, and with that, the possibility for many more number changes as well.
