Browns head coach Hue Jackson has finally set a date for his long-awaited bath in Lake Erie. So, let’s really go in-depth on this one. What could this Lake Jump mean to the Cleveland Browns going forward?

Remember what Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson said about the team and their losing ways before the 2017 season began?

"“We can’t do that. We are not going to do that. We can stop right there. I’m not doing that. We are not going 1-15 or I’ll be swimming in the lake over there somewhere. I know me too well. I know me and I know these guys too well. We put out this front that where we are. We are not going 1-15 next year. You can write it if you’d like. Hue Jackson said it. We are not. That’s the way it is.” –Hue Jackson, January 2nd, 2017 via 247 Sports"

Those words rang at least somewhat hollow throughout the 2017 NFL season. As a positive, the Cleveland Browns did not go 1-15 in 2017.

Rather, they went one step below, achieving perfection in the form of total failure, with an 0-16 record.

Nevertheless, Jackson stuck to his promise. The Browns, even though they did not achieve the 1-15 mark, would jump into Lake Erie at some point.

Now, we have confirmation; on June 1st, Hue Jackson, along with many others in the Browns organization, will take the plunge into Lake Erie.

So, what does this mean for the Browns going forward? While that is sort of a silly question, there is some undeniable symbolism going on here, along with the Browns jumping in for a great cause. For every member of the Browns organization that jumps in, Hue Jackson will donate $100 dollars to help end human trafficking.

Now, on to the symbolism. This is, in a sense, a baptism for the Cleveland Browns. A cleansing, if you will, for a new era of Browns football. With the Browns making moves left and right, this seems like the perfect offseason to become reborn as a football team.

So join Hue and the Browns, won’t you? For a rebirth. For a cleansing of the old, and a christening of the new.

On June 1st, 2018, the Browns will become, hopefully, what everyone hopes they can be, and wants them to be. They certainly won’t be going 0-16 again, and you can write it if you’d like. Hue Jackson said it, right?
