Cleveland Browns selected to be featured on ‘Hard Knocks’

The Cleveland Browns training camp will be featured on ‘Hard Knocks’ as HBO has reportedly decided to choose the Browns as the NFL team to follow on their show.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, HBO has selected the Cleveland Browns to be their featured NFL team for their show ‘Hard Knocks’.
‘Hard Knocks’ is a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into a NFL training camp. Cameras will follow players and coaches everywhere as they prepare to get ready for the NFL season.
With as crazy as the offseason has been for the Browns, it makes sense that HBO selected the Browns. Coming off an 0-16 season, HBO gets to show what the Browns are doing to make sure they do not go winless for another season. It will almost be like following a redemption story as the Browns try to overcome a 1-31 record the past two seasons.

Two players that are likely to be heavily featured on the show are the past two number one overall picks – Myles Garrett and Baker Mayfield. Garrett is a dominant and menacing player on the field, but is an interesting person off the field as he has different hobbies than most other players.
Mayfield was this year’s first overall selection and has a huge following after his college career at Oklahoma. The show will likely feature his transition to the NFL and his attempt to take the starting quarterback job from Tyrod Taylor.
Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey recently expressed hope that the Browns would not be the team selected for ‘Hard Knocks’ in an interview with ESPN Cleveland 850.
"“I don’t believe we’re on Hard Knocks.”“I don’t think there’s anything good that comes out of Hard Knocks, but we’ll see.”"
Browns head coach Hue Jackson and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams both have experience being on ‘Hard Knocks’. Jackson was the Bengals running back coach when Cincinnati was featured on the show in 2013. Williams was the Rams defensive coordinator in 2016 when the team was featured on the show.

The announcement is expected to become official later Thursday or in the next couple of days.
