Cleveland’s hopes for the 2019 NFL Draft have been dashed by the league, in favor of Nashville, Tennessee. But, could another draft be in Cleveland and/or Canton’s future?

With the NFL’s spring owner meetings taking place recently, Cleveland had a big to host the 2019 NFL Draft.

However, it seems that the league has gone away from their roots for the draft, at least one more year.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, it became official that Nashville, Tennessee would host the NFL Draft next April. From April 25-April 27, 2019, college football player dreams will come true in the City of Music.

The NFL have started to expand the NFL Draft to different cities around the United States, and to great results. 2018’s endeavor in Dallas, Texas was a great time, going surprisingly smoothly as NFC East fans failed to hijack the broadcast.

Now, it’s normal for Cleveland Browns fans, especially ones who are already draft-hungry, to be upset. This was our chance to go to the NFL Draft, and not have to drive too far. But, maybe not all is lost, as Cleveland and Canton may have the chance to host the draft in 2020.

It’s hard to imagine what the state of the Browns, or the NFL itself, will be like in 2020. The landscape of the football world is constantly changing, and it’s hard to see even a little bit into the future.

Hopefully, the NFL Draft will matter less to the Cleveland Browns by then. It may not be too much of a pipe dream to say that the Dawg Pound could be a playoff contender by then, if everything goes well.

Next: Taylor will have pressure to succeed immediately

The most important thing to remember is that 2019 was not Cleveland’s only chance. Don’t worry, Cleveland draft junkies, you could very well get your day in the sun. And, as is Cleveland’s sports motto, there’s always next year.
