As a guest on the Dan Patrick Show, former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel discussed the CFL and gave some advice to Baker Mayfield

Once a complete bust for the Cleveland Browns, Johnny Manziel now tries to revive his career as the quarterback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL.

The newly signed signal caller was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday and discussed several topics.

One was of course the difference between playing in the CFL and the NFL. The other, was his advice for the Browns newest quarterback Baker Mayfield.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

To sum it up, he pretty much said Mayfield needs to trust the veteran quarterback ahead of him and the players around him.

"“Baker is in a better situation having a vet quarterback, there’s not pressure on him to start day one.” Manziel said on the DP Show. He later continued by saying “he’s got a great group of receivers and trust in those guys they have around him.”"

Manziel continues to try and rehab his image, but he also keeps proving that he doesn’t fully get it. At one point he blamed the Browns for drafting him in the first round, saying they should have known he didn’t care about football at the time.

Of course, it wasn’t all on him that he blew the team off and wasn’t a professional.

Now he added one small comment that again shifts the blame. Manziel pointed out that Mayfield is in a better situation than him. Now should the newest rookie work out, that’s still not on Johnny — Baker just had more talent around him.

The fact is Manziel is the last person that needs to give any advice. Mayfield enters the league as a higher pick and he can be successful because he’s a better quarterback and has a better work ethic than Manziel did.

Next: Does Dorsey want to extend Johnson?

Not because of the players around him. Because even 2014-2015 Johnny wouldn’t have sniffed success no matter how much talent was around him.
