Cleveland Browns: Who will play left tackle?
By Joel W. Cade
The Cleveland Browns began OTAs this week. With the start of activities comes the first year without Joe Thomas. Who will play left tackle?
The Cleveland Browns lack stability. Everyone knows about the constant turnover at quarterback, general manager and head coach. There were even questions about the owners’ job security in light of the Pilot Flying J issues.
But one position that has remained stable has been left tackle. Ever since he was drafted, Joe Thomas has manned the left tackle position for the Browns. He played 10,363 consecutive snaps and started every game of his 11 year career before suffering an arm injury.

Since that injury, left tackle has become another position of instability. Spencer Drango started the year and proved he had no business playing tackle. This off season the Browns signed offensive tackles Chris Hubbard and Donald Stephenson.
With Hubbard taking over the right tackle position he played in Pittsburgh, Shon Coleman will make the move from right tackle to left tackle. In addition, the Browns drafted Austin Corbett with the first pick in the second round of the 2018 draft. There was speculation at the time he was drafted that he would be moved inside to guard or center.
The question remains, who will play left tackle? And will they be able to bring stability to a position that has been unusually stable for the Browns.
