Cleveland Browns: Star-studded pas rush beginning to get noticed
As the Browns look to steadily improve their squad behind Hue Jackson and John Dorsey, one position group has firmly shone through. This Browns pass-rushing group is young, hungry, and ready to break out on a national stage.
Isn’t it a great feeling, Cleveland Browns fans? For the first time since maybe 1999, the Browns have a position group that is truly respected on a league-wide scale. The Cleveland Browns’ pass rush is already really good, and it’s only getting better year in and year out.
Dawg Pound Daily’s own Randy Gurzi put out his list of the 50 best pass rushers in the NFL on Saturday. Both of the Browns’ two bookend defensive ends made the cut.
At No. 36, Emmanuel Ogbah showed that even on injury, he has earned his place on the list. Judging by his performances in the past two years, Ogbah has shown himself to be a hidden gem on the Browns.

Really coming into his own at the tail end of 2016, Ogbah flew around the field in 2017, until he was stopped by an injury. Even missing the end of the season, though, Ogbah still managed four sacks, 29 tackles, and two forced fumbles in 2017.
Moving higher up the list, Myles Garrett makes the cut at No. 17. Although he too was injured for parts of the season, Garrett was nearly a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate.
While playing in just 11 games, Garrett was a star on Cleveland’s defense.
Garrett terrorized left tackles to the tune of seven sacks and 31 tackles. A 6-foot-4, 272-pound beast, Garrett is nearly impossible to stop at full speed.
In addition to their individual performances, the times when Garrett and Ogbah were both healthy were magical. Though the opportunities were few and far between, the duo made the most of it.
If the Browns’ defensive ends can stay healthy, they can be something very special together. Please, football gods, Emmanuel Ogbah and Myles Garrett need a full season on the field together.
The whole of Cleveland’s front seven has vastly improved over a few years, and this is especially true for their defensive line. Clearly, the Browns believe in Emmanuel Ogbah. After all, he is why they passed on Bradley Chubb in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Myles Garrett is a freak. Emmanuel Ogbah is a pass-swatting machine, and he is a great compliment to Garrett’s abilities. 2018 is a perfect time for the Browns’ defensive ends to show the world what they are made of.
