Cleveland Browns: Can they make the playoffs?
By Randy Gurzi
Starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor would love to get revenge on the Buffalo Bills for trading him, and talked about the Cleveland Browns facing them in the playoffs. Can they actually make it there?
So an 0-16 team talking about the playoffs? Not really the norm, but that’s happening with the Cleveland Browns right now.
Or at least it is with their quarterback.
Acquired this offseason from the Buffalo Bills, Tyrod Taylor is set to be the starter for the Browns and he’s feeling pretty good about his team. He’s even got a little revenge on his mind.
When sitting with Andrew Siciliano and Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network, Taylor said he would love to either get to the playoffs and beat his former team:
"“Things didn’t end the way I would’ve liked it to in Buffalo. We could possibly see those guys in the playoffs or we could knock those guys out of the playoffs. I would definitely love that. It definitely added motivation and I take it to work with me every day.” — Taylor on NFL Network via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com"
The Bills traded Taylor to the Browns after three seasons with the team. In 42 starts, he was 22-20 and according to Pro Football Reference, he completed 62.4 percent of his passes for 8,857 yards. He has a sensational touchdown-to-interception ratio of 51-to-18 and added 1,575 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.
Despite all that, Buffalo seemed to be ready to move on since last season. They wound up getting just a third-round pick in exchange for a veteran starter. Taylor knows that wasn’t equal value for his skill, and he is driven to prove the Bills made a mistake.

Cleveland doesn’t have a date with Buffalo in the regular season, but they will play against them at home on Aug. 17, the second preseason game of the year. Taylor likely will only get a few snaps in that one, but it could still be fun to see what kind of fire he comes out with.
