Cleveland Browns: Josh Gordon likes his new quarterbacks
By Randy Gurzi
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is hoping for a big 2018 season and he is happy with the quarterbacks he will work with
It’s been talked about non stop this offseason and the biggest retort is we have to see it in action. That ‘it’ happens to be the new quarterbacks for the Cleveland Browns who have given us all hope for a better future.
Well for those who want to see it, we still have to wait. The good news though is people who have watched them in action are coming away impressed.
Most recently, wide receiver Josh Gordon spoke about the guys who are throwing him the ball in minicamp.
He highlighted the two big names in Tyord Taylor and Baker Mayfield according to Matthew Florjancic of WKYC:

"“The most talented quarterbacks I’ve seen come through here — by far. It’s going to be an interesting thing to watch the quarterback battle go on. You’ve got a proven guy in Tyrod. We’ve got a young talented guy in Baker. I don’t see how it can go wrong, really.” — Gordon said via Florjancic of WKYC"
No one can deny that the names inspire much more confidence than the players trotted out in years past. For Gordon that’s music to his ears as he’s coming in on the heels of a surprising return.
After three seasons marred by suspension, Gordon got five games in to finish 2017. Now with a full offseason, he hopes to put any question about rust to bed. With Taylor under center that should be no issue.
The one interesting bit of wording that Gordon used though in his quote was ‘quarterback battle.’ The Browns have said all along that Taylor is the starter and Mayfield is there to learn.
We’ve all heard talk like this before and it usually goes in one ear and out the other. That could be all this was for Gordon, who just assumes that head coach Hue Jackson claiming Taylor is the man is just coach speak.

Still, it should be a fun preseason as we see both on the field once and for all. They’re the best the Browns have had in a long time, and as Gordon says — there’s no wrong way to handle this.
