Feels weird to say, but the Cleveland Browns roster is suddenly looking pretty deep and competent. That’s the result of a lot of hard work from general manager John Dorsey and it has the team in an unfamiliar position.
They’re not desperate for a quarterback to come in and save the day.
Since returning to the NFL in 1999, the Browns have struggled with play under center. While a lot of that is on the quarterback, they also haven’t had much help.

Now the players around them are good enough that even average play from their signal caller could lead to an improved season.

Lesmerises isn’t saying he wants mediocrity, but just that the Browns have been flat-out awful at the position in recent season. He believes they could be much better simply by their starter under center being average in 2018.

Pluto is dead-on with his assessment. The Browns made smart moves that help them not only have better talent, but also recruit future talent.
