Ozzie Newsome, Tight End (1978-1990)

One of the first true pass-catching threats at tight end, Ozzie Newsome is still the Browns all-time leader in receptions. He was taken in the first-round of the 1978 NFL Draft out of Alabama and quickly became a star. He twice hit the 1,000-yard mark for the Browns and finished with 662 receptions for 7,980 yards and 47 touchdowns — via Pro Football Reference.

For his stellar work, Newsome has been heavily decorated. He’s a three-tome Pro Bowler, was named to the All-Pro Team six times — twice on the First-Team and four times on the second. On top of that he’s a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the College Football Hall of Fame and the NFL All-Decade team for the 1980s.

After his playing career, Newsome has continued his success. He traveled with the team to Baltimore and has won two Super Bowls there as an executive.

Joe Thomas, Left Tackle (2007-2017)

The next player on this list is the best offensive lineman in Cleveland Browns history, Joe Thomas. An iron-man, Thomas never missed a snap from the year he was drafted in 2007 until his final year in 2017. His streak came to an end in October at 10,363 snaps. He retired following that year, saying his body had given all it could.

Thomas was a center piece to the Browns O-Line for years and made 10 Pro Bows and seven First-Team All-Pro nods. He will easily become a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and deserves to be honored after giving so much of himself to the city of Cleveland as a part of this team.
