The NFL is finally rolling back around, which means that soon enough we’ll have real, actual professional football in our lives again. But before that, what are the storylines for Browns fans to follow throughout the course of training camp?

Training camp, the first sign that NFL football is back and ready to take over our lives once more. The Cleveland Browns specifically will have a spotlight on them, as they will star on HBO’s Hard Knocks before this season.

Needless to say, Browns fans will have plenty of storylines to chew on even before preseason starts. Forget Hard Knocks, this is our list of the top five training camp storylines for the Cleveland Browns.

5. Is there a quarterback competition?

This one is relatively short and sweet. Tyrod Taylor is coming into training camp as the incumbent starter, with Baker Mayfield and Drew Stanton just behind. But is this even a question? Can Mayfield, or rather, should Mayfield, unseat Taylor?

One can make a case that if the No. 1 overall pick outperforms his veteran teammate, he should be the starter. However, the Browns may want to keep Mayfield on the bench for 2018, while Taylor guides the Browns to at least a few assured wins.

Whether or not the quarterback competition becomes an actual storyline rests on the shoulders of Browns brass and coaching. Should they choose to let the No. 1 pick compete for the job right away, then this will undoubtedly skyrocket up the list of storylines for training camp.
