Cleveland Browns: Top 10 moves to right the ship over the past three years

7. Signing Mychal Kendricks
The Browns have continued to make over their image, with this 2018 offseason showing the fruits of that labor. Going back to getting Jamie Collins to stay long-term, they’ve been able to start convincing players that things are going to be different.
Players are believing it too, as evidenced by linebacker Mychal Kendricks landing with Cleveland despite there being multiple teams interested in the veteran’s services after the Philadelphia Eagles let him go. Kendricks had a chance to join his brother with the Minnesota Vikings and the Oakland Raiders were also interested.
Kendricks however decided to join the Browns, saying he wanted to be part of what they are building. His addition wasn’t just huge for the fact that it proved their image is better, but it also gives them one of the more formidable groups of linebackers in the NFL.
If Collins is healthy this season, the starting trio will be Kendricks, Collins and Christian Kirksey. That means Joel Schobert, who was tied for the NFL lead 144 tackles, will be their backup middle linebacker.
That kind of depth is unheard of, but the Browns were already strong at that spot with Schobert and Kirksey both landing in the top-five for tackles in the NFL. Now they add a talent like Kendricks and get Collins healthy again.
