Cleveland Browns: Top 10 moves to right the ship over the past three years

3. Signing Todd Haley as offensive coordinator
After spending six seasons as the offensive coordinator for the hated Pittsburgh Steelers, it seemed weird to see Todd Haley join the Browns this offseason. That’s exactly what he did though and his arrival is going to be one of the biggest reasons to believe they can be successful in 2018 and beyond.
Haley has always done well dialing up offenses and he will also help Cleveland maximize the talent they have at wide receiver. Haley was a wide receiver coach for years before ascendeding to offensive coordinator and later head coach.
His work with pass catchers is respected in league circles and he’s called a ‘wizard’ by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com:
"“Haley is a receiver wizard, maximizing the potential of Antonio Brownon the way to an NFL-record five consecutive 100-catch seasons while playing a key role in the draft evaluation and development of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant.” — Fowler, ESPN"
That’s exciting when you consider the level of talent Haley will work with now. The Browns have Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, Corey Coleman and Antonio Callaway at wide out and David Njoku at tight end. There’s no limit to how much Haley can get out of such a talented group, making his hiring one of their best moves in recent years.
