Seneca Wallace On Baker Mayfield’s Future With The Cleveland Browns
By Mitch Zoloty
Seneca Wallace comments on Baker Mayfield’s future with the Cleveland Browns, and who his funniest teammate was during his tenure in Cleveland.
Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace and his team, Godspeed, have been tearing it up in the AFFL (American Flag Football League). This is a team that also features former NFL players Justin Forsett, Jason Avant, Jacoby Jones, James Ihedigbo. Olympic gold medalists Jeremy Wariner and Michael Johnson are also members of Godspeed.
Needless to say this team is pretty good. Last weekend, Seneca threw 6 TD’s to help his team beat Holdat 38-12 in the Semifinals. On Saturday, he helped his team beat Chad Johnson‘s team Ocho 28-12.
After his stellar performance Saturday, I was able to ask him a few questions. Keeping the interview short, he gave me some great comments on Baker.

I asked him what he had thought about Baker Mayfield’s future as the Cleveland Browns franchise quarterback.
His answer, seen in the quote below, is a great insight to what fans should expect from Baker early on in his NFL career. Fans expecting him to play early need to realize the best thing for him is to sit this season.
"“I think hes going to be good, it’s going to be a learning curve for him going to Cleveland for sure. Cleveland has always been one of those teams where mentally and physically you have to have a strong quarterback. If he can get through that, the early stages and the early bumps he’s gonna be okay.” — Wallace"
Wallace knows better than any reporter or any fan about what it takes to be a quarterback in the NFL, more specifically Cleveland.
When Mayfield first gets his opportunity to step on the field in the regular season, hopefully in 2019, he’s going to have his ups and downs.
The fan base is going to need to stick with him, that way he can get through the early bumps mentally. There is no doubt that physically, Baker can be an NFL star.
On a more casual note, I asked Wallace was who the funniest player was when he was in Cleveland. His response was the following:
"“Funniest guy? We had a lot of characters…. Josh in his own way was funny, Josh Cribbs. I’m gonna say Josh Cribbs.” — Wallace"
Wallace went with fan favorite Josh Cribbs. He played with a lot of other great Browns players, like Joe Thomas, and Phil Dawson too.
