Cleveland Browns: Way too early 7-round mock draft
By Randy Gurzi
Cleveland was linked to another player out of Wyoming a lot before the 2018 NFL Draft. Quarterback Josh Allen was one of the options they reportedly considered with the No. 1 overall pick. Of course, they went a different direction with Baker Mayfield out of Oklahoma getting the call.
Now they look at Wyoming again, but this time — with a much later pick and a different position — they pull the trigger. Their sixth-round pick is Andrew Wingard.
In three seasons so far, Wingard has 367 tackles and eight picks. He could provide depth at a position that’s not weak, but could use some young talent in the wings.
Raequan Williams becomes one of the first two seventh-round picks for Cleveland. They look to the usually strong defensive team here by grabbing the Michigan State defensive tackle.
At this late in the draft, Williams will be no lock to make the team, but could add strength to their defensive line.
Zane Gonzalez wasn’t bad as a rookie, but he could have been better. He has a little competition in Martin Ross this season, but likely wins the battle. It’s probably not a bad idea to continue to push Gonzalez, unless he just lights it up in year two.

Here they decide to push him by snatching up Justin Yoon from Notre Dame. He’s been consistent for the Irish and could be a solid player if he does happen to beat out Gonzalez.
