With the Cleveland Browns left tackle spot already a cause for concern, the recent injury to Greg Robinson only makes things seem more daunting

Replacing Joe Thomas was never going to be easy. However, the Cleveland Browns seemed to have a haphazard plan for doing so and now that plan became a little murkier as one of the players at the position suffered an injury.

Greg Robinson, the former No. 2 overall pick of the Rams, was reportedly hurt and had to be carted off practice on Friday.

The injury was tweeted out by Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 who sent out a Tweet that showed the second-string left tackle being carted off.

According to head coach Hue Jackson, there may not be a lot of concern as he was quoted as saying Robinson was hit in the head by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

"“I think that he got hit in the head,” Jackson told reporters via Florio of Pro Football Talk. “Just got hit in the head. He will be OK. We have to evaluate him. Those things happen. It is football. Forearm, fist, whatever it was.”"

If Robinson turns out to be fine, it wouldn’t be the first player carted off in practice only to find out later the injury was minor. Defensive tackle Caleb Brantley and receiver Damion Ratley were each carted off in the team’s first training camp practice. Brantley has reportedly already returned to practice (although cramps limited him again) and Ratley’s injury is said to be a non-serious hip issue.

Robinson is in the concussion protocol now, but any missed time will hurt his chances of pushing Shon Coleman for the starting job. The team is also considering moving Joel Bitonio from guard to left tackle and has rookie Austin Corbett getting some snaps as well with Robinson out.

It won’t be easy to replace Joe Thomas, but it becomes even more difficult when injuries start to occur.
