The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know. Today we see a few roster moves, none that included wide receiver Dez Bryant.

There was a lot of talk about the Cleveland Browns making a roster move on Monday, and they did. In fact, they made a few moves to add a couple new faces to the team ahead of their fifth practice of training camp. It just wasn’t the big name signing so many were discussing during the weekend.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant was reportedly discussed by the front office and rumors were even circulating that a one-year deal was being discussed. Then Bryant went off on his old team on Twitter and suddenly the rumors quieted down.

The two may not be related and Cleveland may yet decide to make a play for the high-profile receiver — they just haven’t yet. They still did make a few moves, which we can see in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Cleveland Browns News

Browns sign 3 players — ClevelandBrowns.com

"“The Cleveland Browns have signed DB Christian Boutte, TE Orson Charles and DB Jeremiah McKinnon. To make room on the roster, the team waived DL Trenton Thompson.”"

The shocking part of this news wasn’t the team adding the players they did, but rather who they cut. Trenton Thompson seemed to have a shot to make the team as an undrafted free agent, but that obviously won’t be happening.

Browns sign OL Kevin Bowen — Cleveland Browns.com

"“Bowen is 6-7, 335-pounds and in his third NFL season out of East Central. Originally signed by Washington as an undrafted free agent in 2016, Bowen missed each of the previous two seasons with injuries.”"

This looks like nothing more than a camp body at this point. There will probably be a lot more shuffling at the bottom of the roster between now and the start of the regular season.

1,000 yards within reach for Carlos Hyde

New Cleveland Browns running back Carlos Hyde has his sights on a big season and thinks 1,000-yards on the ground should just be the beginning. But is such a lofty goal attainable?

3 Browns with rising stock early in camp

It’s still early, but some members of the Cleveland Browns are already turning heads with their play. Here are three guys who have done a good job and because of that, their stock with the team is much higher now.

Cleveland Browns: Could Jarvis Landry have more to unleash? — Cody Williams, NFL Spin Zone

"“In fairness to the criticisms of Landry though, they aren’t unfounded. While he hauls in a tremendous amount of receptions, the yardage and touchdown totals haven’t been nearly as spectacular. As has been said before about Landry, if you want a 4-yard reception on third-and-6, he’s your guy.”"

Williams looks at both sides of the Landry debate. Yes, he was a short-yardage guy in Miami but Landry claims that he always wanted to run more routes with the Dolphins. The Browns may give him that chance, and frankly to justify his pay they absolutely have to.
