3. 1,000 Yard Seasons?

For as nice as the quarterbacks might be for the Browns, this team has a three-headed monster at running back. Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson, and Nick Chubb can combine to form some kind of Power Rangers-esque Megazord. I’m almost certain of it. Needless to say, Hue Jackson and Todd Haley need to keep their focus conservative and stabilize this offense.

Some analysts, namely one Colin Cowherd, absolutely love the rookie Chubb. Chubb became a victim of Sony Michel’s breakout 2017 season, and although he was part of their thunder and lightning duo, he became overshadowed by his cohort. If Chubb can stay healthy, who knows? He might have a shot at offensive rookie of the year.

If, by chance, Mayfield plays in 2018, his running backs simply must be there to help him out. A rookie quarterback, no matter the pedigree or draft position, needs help starting out. Hyde and Johnson as veteran backs are almost sure to become reliable options.

Johnson will have all eyes on him after getting a big contract extension with Cleveland. This is, by no means, a make or break year. Rather, just an opportunity for “The Duke” to cement himself as one of the faces of the Browns for years to come. The fans love him, and hopefully he can be a major part of a much improved Browns team in 2018.
