So much attention goes to the playmakers on offense, but here are four defensive players making noise for the Cleveland Browns

A lot of the talk this offseason has been about how much the Cleveland Browns have changed their offense. That’s a trap that’s easy to fall into with them adding guys like Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield — easily the best quarterback duo they’ve had in years.

Also new to the mix is wide receiver Jarvis Landry and running backs Carlos Hyde and Nick Chubb. With all that potential firepower, it’s easy to see why all eyes are on this side of the ball.

However, if the Browns really want to become a competitive franchise, they also need to be better on defense. The good news is, they haven’t ignored that side of the ball.

Here we will look at four players who have been turning heads early on in their 2018 Training Camp.

Honorable mentions: Carl Nassib, Chris Smith, Jamie Meder

Last season the Browns struggled with depth at defensive end when Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah were injured. Smith was brought in to alleviate that issue and so far he looks to be a positive force as a speed rusher.

Nassib is also looking better as he has bulked up and is trying to prove he can take that next step as a player for Cleveland.

As for Jamie Meder, he’s a perfect player for this blue-collar defense. He comes to work every day and simply does his job. He’s often overlooked, but an incredibly valuable member of this defense.
