How do Baker Mayfield and Tyrod Taylor look?

The Dawg Pound and the rest of the nation will finally get a look at the new quarterback room. None of the guys in the new quarterback only RV were with the Browns before this offseason. So how will they all look?

The big question that everyone wants answered is if Baker Mayfield is really worth the No. 1  pick he was in this year’s NFL Draft. Fans will get a good look at that tonight, as many expect Baker to get most of the action Thursday night against the second and third-team defense.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

After nothing but rave reviews from those at Browns’ training camp, all eyes will be on Mayfield to see if he’s able to live up to the hype. His performance will be the leading story on every sports news site and show on Friday. Everyone will get a sneak peak with ‘Hard Knocks’, but the real test is if Baker can prove himself worthy of being more than a backup this season.

Taylor will likely see a few snaps, and it will be interesting to see if he has more freedom in airing it out more, as his offensive coordinator and head coach didn’t want him forcing the issue. His new offensive coordinator, Todd Haley, may be more inclined to let him have more freedom.

Although Taylor may not see more than a series or two, his performance will be studied as well. If he underperforms in this short stint, and Baker Mayfield shines in his bulk of snaps, more of the national media will be calling for Mayfield to get the job earlier than his head coach and general manager intend.
