Johnathan Hankins — Free Agent

The final person we will look at as a potential player to add in the middle of the Cleveland Browns defensive line is the most obvious. Johnathan Hankins
is a massive nose tackle, originally drafted in the second round by the New York Giants back in 2013. After four seasons there, he signed a three-year $30 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts

He started 15 games for the Colts and was a stout run defender. He finished with 44 tackles, the second-highest in his career behind the 51 he recorded 2014 — his second season in the NFL. After a new coaching regime came in though, Hankins was cut and has been on the market ever since.

The 6-foot-2, 325-pound defensive lineman likely is just waiting for the right offer. At 26-years old he surely isn’t over the hill. He also is considered one of the best remaining free agents and there have been several teams linked to him.

Cleveland has been linked to him often, but only in speculation. There’s been no word out of the front office that they plan to look at Hankins, but it seems like it would be an ideal fit as they could get a talented player on a one-year deal, looking to prove he deserves more.
