The Cleveland Browns have had a great start to their preseason and here are five pleasant surprises so far as we head into the second week of exhibition games

Heading into the 2018 training camp, there was no shortage of storylines for the Cleveland Browns. The second team in NFL history to struggle their way to a 0-16 season was out to end their losing ways. New general manager John Dorsey has never been one to sit idly by and wait for change either.

Instead, he got to work. Dorsey shipped off the entire quarterback room and brought in all new players there. He also reshaped the entire secondary and added a start wideout in Jarvis Landry.

Probably the biggest change though has been him sending off players he felt didn’t live up to the expectations they had coming into the league. That in itself could have a profound effect on the team as it lets them know that this team no longer will put up with sloppy play and failed expectations.

We will have to wait a bit longer to see whether or not the desired effects are achieved. What we do know though, is that after one week of preseason football the results are favorable.

Not only are the players they were leaning on showing to be valuable, but others have been surprising us as well. Here we will look at five players who have surprised in some way heading into Week 2 of the preseason.
