The Cleveland Browns and free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant did not reach an agreement on Thursday, but reports suggest the two sides will talk on Friday

Thursday was indeed the day that free agent Dez Bryant and the Cleveland Browns finally met. The high-profile wide receiver made his trip to the Land and was instantly making headlines.

Bryant signed a helmet in the airport on his way into town, which just happened to be a Browns’ helmet. He then popped onto the ‘Browns Daily’ radio show and hyped people up talking about how he liked the city and would look good in brown.

He even arrived in town with his agent and made it sound like he could be ready to get something done.

However, no deal was agreed to according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

This doesn’t mean there won’t be one. Dez was released by the Dallas Cowboys back in April and this has been the first time he’s been courted since the Baltimore Ravens reached out with a contract offer early in his free agency.

Bryant may have turned that one down since it was a multi-year deal, as he would surely prefer to hit the open market again during the first wave of free agency in 2019 — something he wasn’t afforded this year thanks to being cut so late in the game.

If he does land in Cleveland, it would be all but guaranteed to be a one-year deal. In his career, Bryant has 531 receptions for 7,459 yards with 73 touchdowns. In 2017, he had 69 catches with 838 yards and six scores.
